Statement
My art practice is focused on redefining the understanding of mass culture as well as exploring a discourse between nature and culture. Finding common spaces between those phenomena determines my artistic endeavors. I believe that everyday objects can be elevated and that they can become works of art. Blurring lines between the artworld and mass culture allows me to create works that are inclusive and can perceived by people from various social backgrounds. Accessibility and inclusivity are the focus of my practice. I tend to use everyday materials such as lego blocks, chewing gum and other found objects to create my works. I believe that art materials should be accessible and cheap and that creating art can be fun. I choose materials that are tangible to convey modern works values and dynamics. My latest research is focused on creating work that empowers women. I use Lego blocks as a building material to symbolically refer to the process of building an identity out many pieces. Creating new symbolic spaces and well as giving back the stolen identities to underrepresented communities became a significant part of my latest artistic research.
